I sn't it remarkable that George (George? OH my!) is almost always first to cast sentiments out across the waters?

Indeed; Christmas is the special time we Christians set aside to celebrate the attitude we should cultivate every day. The fact that we fail so badly should be a reminder in itself.

I'll say out front that I am not Christian but I find the philosophy the ultimate In who I would like to be as a man. Like, love,care laugh,give, receive,trust, protect. Those are my needs. "The fact that we fail so badly should be a reminder in itself"

After three years in the clutches of the Catholic church as a lad, I lost most of my respect for Christianity. I still like many of their lessons in how to live right. Say no more.
 
We Christians tend to be hypocritical easily and fall into the consumerism/commercialism traps. Making Christ no different than any other hobby. Its very hard to not get caught up in the world we are born in.

Christians are supposed to be in-the-world but not of-the-world... at this point its hard to tell who the Christians are... even if they say "I am a Christian"
 
"In the world but not of the world" is a mighty difficult feat. Christians are not the only religion to have this problem.
 
If we had been born in Timbuktu we'd consider their local religion as normal. And probably would never have seen a computer. The horror, the horror!
 
The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress was a great read, IMO. Especially when they pounded Cheyenne Mountain into a crater with nothing more than rocks launched from the moon.

I think I've read just about everything Heinlein published.
