    OpenGL or DirectX?

Should game developers focus on using OpenGL or DirectX? Wolfire developer David Rosen writes an interesting blog post on the subject: DirectX vs OpenGL This initial post is from Jan 2010, but he revisits later and responds to some of the comments: DirectX vs OpenGL revisited I wonder how this...

    League of Legends "leaver" penalty?

Wow, they all have penalties? What about if I close a game because I have to go to work and can't finish? Do I get penalized for leaving then? I normally play Drakensang and Neverwinter online and its all drop-in-drop-out with no penalties at all. Gives the player more freedom.

    League of Legends Guide

Call on your Summoner to battle along-side minions in the free-to-play MOBA. Level up, buy upgrades from the store and play cooperative with some friends. League of Legends has a lot of competitive action and fighting as you slaughter minions, turrets and Summoners. League of Legends has...

    League of Legends "leaver" penalty?

My game crashes in Linux when clicking on the store, then riotgames has the nerve to give me a penalty as if it was my fault. Have you ever heard of such a thing? Penalizing your players? Not very encouraging to make me what to come back.

I'll look for that post... Fedora isn't for everyone, neither is Linux in general.

    League of Legends (3.9)

Every gamer must have heard of League of Legends by now! The PlayOnLinux forums and WineHQ are littered with post after post after post on this game. So I thought it was time to try it out... A few tweaks and it plays beautifully! After running through a tutorial and messing with the...

    Fallout 3 Guide

I would have to see what you are doing step-by-step so I would know what is missing. Maybe there is a chance the correct 32-bit libraries are not installed? Who knows... I'm glad you are testing it because it sounds like a pain! Mint 32-bit gets the job done for me 95% of the time.

    Installing new Wine version

If you are using Wine alone to play your games, its a good idea to know how to install the newer versions of Wine. Not to mention WineHQ requires only specific releases of Wine to submit a test report. 1. Open terminal 2. Type: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-wine/ppa Press Enter This...

    Far Cry Guide

You could always try purchasing the GOG.com version because its DRM free and you won't need the CD disk.

    Another submission rejected!!??

I honestly don't know... The Wine community is so HUGE between Wine users, Crossover users and PlayOnLinux users, we have already determined many games that work well with specific versions of wine. Then people like me come along and try specific games with newer versions of wine and it still...

    Fallout 3 Guide

Wow, that is not cool! You have to install Wine alone before installing PlayOnLinux. That is a requirement.... not that its documented anywhere. Ironically I always ended up doing that anyways. PlayOnLinux will use the initial Wine install for setting up the default virtual drive. From there on...

I think you have to install the Debian version of PlayOnLinux... http://www.playonlinux.com/en/download.html Running the .DEB file should install it just fine! I don't think PlayOnLinux would be happy with another version of PlayOnLinux at the same time.
