This begins with a fresh new install;l of Mint 20.1 or Ulyess.
I opened"Disks" just to check things out. But the Disk software
has been greatly reduced to nearly useless.

It use to show all my drives and could format them how ever I wanted it to.. Now it only shows my main drive.

So I opened "software Manger and went looking for a more complete Disk manager.
As usual they had several things that looked promising.

I installed several to try out.But then I couldn't find them anywhere.
So I tried to move on. Clicked on my computer Icon and got zipo!

It would not open. Looked like a job for reboot and I went for it.
NO BOOT!
instead I got a tiny tiny message dead middle of my screen
instead of booting it gave me the boot!
It said I don't know you.
I do not want to know you
and I will not boot for you...or something like that, Even with my nose on my screen I could not really read it...But I caught it's vibe! ":O}
Fortunately I forced my self to stay up and do a back up last night which made me whole again.

But this is the first time Mint has actually screwed up my Mint.

So unless you know more that I do...Hey that could happen!
And don't like the reduction in force of the new Disks app
Don't go crying to the Software manager she has nothing good to say about it.
All she said to me was
No\w you know why you felt the need to see 3AM getting a backup.

Now for the help I'm asking for.
Can you fix "disks"?

I mean without demolishing my install of course!

That looks pretty typical of Disks
Maybe you are thinking of GParted?

Please give me it's address!
This is what pops when I click on "Disks"

That is the correct interface for Disks, except your fonts are HUGE...
You can click the gear to run tests and/or make changes.
But if you want to see more about the hard drives, GParted is Way better!
You can go to Software Manager and search: gparted

Maybe what you are looking for is Disk Usage Analyzer?

I have a 55 inch monitor, settingScreenshot from 2021-05-10 10-44-09.png up proper fonts has taken me a year or so. They want to be tiny tyne or huge. They at lest look good to me now.":O}

ha ha, that isn't even my computer... I'm at work, so I found a pic online :)

But "disks" use to show all dives on my system as does Gpart.

Now all that I need it to learn to auto mount my backup and music drives.

OK all is well with me!":O}
"Disks" is what I wanted. but they did a strange slide out from two sides to make it fully visible.. Once I realized this find mount options was pretty much the same as before, a bit easier in fact.
Many thanks Boo for the help and the hand holding.":O}
