So, how is Mint 22 treating you?

After my studio is completed I will be buying new desks for my office and then building new computers for my whole family. I'm definitely planning to use Mint 22

22.1 seems to have a lot more updates than usual. but runs great

I get a lot of updates with Mint 21.3 as well. Almost ever few days there is something available to update, but I'll ignore them and wait a few weeks then update all at once.

I asked around and the consensus is that Gentoo is an OK way to do linux. But personally I think it may account for your lack of goodness
