Bored, fishing for forum posts on old home boards that are rotting from brain rot.

Sigh, I wish we could have BBS's again

Seems like everyone is on $SOCIALMEDIAPLATFORM and has left good old forums behind. Very few forums seem to have much activity. Playing games on Linux has become quite easy these days, not really requiring much tinkering, which might also explain less interest in a place like this. For my own needs, I either just run wine directly, or on Steam I use proton.

But I also really miss forums the way they used to be with a lot more activity, so I think I'll do what little I can. Perhaps I'll start doing regular postings here about what I'm playing, or any new cool Linux stuff I got going for me.

In general, I stay away from $SOCIALMEDIAPLATFORM because they are all a cesspool in my experience.

I'm using forums more again and social media less. Bored of it, got shit to do.

You want an innovation? Go into hacking steam ui's and how to use proton with ui tools.

I'm sad to see most gamers migrating to social media and reddit instead of a forum dedicated to gaming, PC or Linux.
I like Reddit as well and it really seems to have more commenting than most typical forums. I'm really not sure why?
Reddit doesn't offer a lot of formatting or media. Maybe that is because it needs to run on all platforms like mobile, but forums are more PC browser based.
I guess if we had a GamersOnLinux app where we post our games and reviews, then it would get more attention?
But who wants to support that?
