He was always crazy, but we thought he'd never do something this evil. I think maybe what he did in the Sixties deserves to stand apart from his terrible murder of Lana Clarkson? All the same he was well known as a man who pulled out a gun to get his way. Then again, he can be condemned for 19 years. It's a tragic close to a great life of earlier achievements. He'll be 88 if he lives to serve out his sentence. Perhaps his time in prison will be punishment enough? Maybe not, it's between him and God.
It's nifty that I saw him live during a Bumbershoot of many years ago. I noticed that the two women singing along with him provided a symphonic quality to his songs.
Three years difference in our ages counts when praising or not praising songs goes. I came of age when my interest in popular music featured the brand new Beatles. I imagine that you liked the Beatles too, but they came later than the "prime time" of your taste in pop music. But really, it's "Tomato or Tomahto." Or something like that?
First time hearing this take on a B.Dylan tune. What? I'm going to say I don't like it!? I don't think so! ":O}
They did a lot of what I think of as Bubble gum rock...But then they did a lot of first rate stuff as well. 50 years later I'm still of two minds about them.
A new quote! "Old men plant trees whose shade they will never see." Something for the climate movement to cling to and gather hope from.
OK here's my part of our eternal conversation./..":O} Why ask about apples and Oranges when both are real plumes? ":O}
