Nice tune, thanks for finding it! They're right, it IS all about the bass. Only if you play bass, of course. But if you do, you know it's all about the song.
SHOCKING It's not by Bruce, it's a Tom Waits tune from the 'Heartattack and Vine' album. Written for his wife.
I couldn't find the exact lyrics as the young ladies cleaned them up to better suit the venue.. But here's the original (I think!) lyrics. "All About That Bass" Because you know I'm all about that bass 'Bout that bass, no treble I'm all about that bass 'Bout that bass, no treble I'm all about that bass 'Bout that bass, no treble I'm all about that bass 'Bout that bass... bass... bass... bass Yeah, it's pretty clear, I ain't no size two But I can shake it, shake it, like I'm supposed to do 'Cause I got that boom boom that all the boys chase And all the right junk in all the right places I see the magazine workin' that Photoshop We know that shit ain't real, come on now, make it stop If you got beauty, beauty, just raise 'em up 'Cause every inch of you is perfect from the bottom to the top Yeah, my mama she told me "don't worry about your size" (Shoo wop wop, sha-ooh wop wop) She says, "Boys like a little more booty to hold at night" (That booty, uh, that booty booty) You know I won't be no stick figure silicone Barbie doll (Shoo wop wop, sha-ooh wop wop) So if that's what you're into, then go 'head and move along Because you know I'm all about that bass 'Bout that bass, no treble I'm all about that bass 'Bout that bass, no treble I'm all about that bass 'Bout that bass, no treble I'm all about that bass 'Bout that bass... Hey! I'm bringing booty back Go 'head and tell them skinny bitches that No, I'm just playing, I know you think you're fat But I'm here to tell you... Every inch of you is perfect from the bottom to the top Yeah my mama she told me, "don't worry about your size" (Shoo wop wop, sha-ooh wop wop) She says, "Boys like a little more booty to hold at night" (That booty booty, uh, that booty booty) You know I won't be no stick figure, silicone Barbie doll So if that's what you're into, then go 'head and move along Because you know I'm all about that bass 'Bout that bass, no treble I'm all about that bass 'Bout that bass, no treble I'm all about that bass 'Bout that bass, no treble I'm all about that bass 'Bout that bass... Because you know I'm all about that bass 'Bout that bass, no treble I said I'm all about that bass 'Bout that bass, no treble I'm all about that bass 'Bout that bass, no treble I'm all about that bass 'Bout that bass... Because you know I'm all about that bass 'Bout that bass, no treble I'm all about that bass 'Bout that bass, no treble I'm all about that bass 'Bout that bass, no treble I'm all about that bass 'Bout that bass... Hey! I'm all about that bass 'Bout that bass... Hey! I'm all about that bass Bout that bass... Hey! Yeah yeah... ohh... You know you like this bass... Hey...
This song truly blows me away. It speaks of a pain few of us can even imagine. lost treasures never to be reclaimed.. Step into another mans life..be be prepared for his pain. Every word carries meaning and every meaning must be endured. From the Bone Machine Album. Well the Ice Man's mule is parked Outside the bar Where a man with missing fingers Plays a strange guitar And the German dwarf Dances with the butcher's son And tonight a little rain never hurt no one They're dancing on the roof And the ceiling's coming down And I sleep with my shovel and my leather gloves And a little trouble makes it worth the going And a little rain never hurt no one Oh, the world is round And I'll go around You must risk something that matters My hands are strong I'll take any man here If it's worth the going It's worth the ride She was 15 years old And she'd never seen the ocean She climbed into a van With a vagabond And the last thing she said Was "I love you Mom" And a little rain Never hurt no one And a little rain Never hurt no one
And now something completely awful...Why didn't I keep it to myself? Because it's perfectly awful!! I always thought they were black singers! I should have known better!! LOL Now don't quit this song in the middle...It gets much worse!! ":O}
This song is from one of the few movies I never pass on a chance to see again. Each viewing passes as serenely as the Desert where the only things that can move are the things that must move for it to be a desert. This song has haunted my dreams for decades now. They are always good dreams, dry and unencumbered by negative emotion.
We've been here before. Were here now because I have a problem letting go. I think it takes a kind of courage even for professionals to step out on a stage With only your talent and training to sustain you. However great the rewards the treat of failure can cripple the naturally shy among us. This lady put a spell on me, I can't quite break loose of her, hell I can't even want to.":O}
Ok your a bit young, but I'll try to explain.":O} The bass they are referring to sits a'top of their legs. "No treble, so if that's what your into you better move along." Charmed, I can't deny it!
But a world of music with only bass would be terrible. Every musicians duty is to make all of the other musicians sound good. And of course having an ace on bass is a lovely thing.
