Who's heard Little Richard sing "Shake a Hand"?

Not exactly sure how your angst for Donald Trump [who incidentally is a New Yorker (but you knew that)] relates to the music of John Hiatt, Lyle Lovett, and Joe Ely except for the fact that they are all Texans; but OK, it's all good ;)

I really doubt that the average music lover would say that John, Joe, or Lyle have a 'redneck attitude' :)

True. Sorry that my great love of theTrump spills over! The monster is SUCH a MONSTER that every tiny thing he does goes so against my principles of Secular Humanism that I could just...stew in my own juices. The absolute worst thing is that he is breaking the law in myriad ways so that he will be reelected.

Any extra dishonestly earned added time of him destroying everything worthwhile makes me upset. And that is what he's doing in broad daylight. And we are allowing him to do it.

The "man" is a mass murderer. Aren't "people" like that put in prison? Not here in this oh so sick country it seems. Time to bind him over to the International Criminal Court in the Hague.

Oh, you mean this country withdrew its membership from that august body? What a shocker!

I didn't have the courage to abandon my country after I learned what a brimming cesspool of twisted horror this joint in reality is. Maybe life is really as ugly everywhere. Or one could posit that the beauty of life is the same everywhere. I very much enjoy the arts, looks like I as well as billions of others can get on that good foot.

George, you have to learn to relax and enjoy the simple, good things in life. Please don't let this affect your health! Try to focus on the good things: life, health, family, love, interests, hobbies... whatever floats your boat, you can still enjoy it.

I don't live there, but it has NOTHING to do with a hatred for my country, or any grievances I might have with said country. Everyone's circumstances are different. My life took its own course, just like everyone else's. But I am just as concerned, just as worried, just as scared as you are about the future of this fine country. Do I let it make me depressed? God, I hope that never happens. I have too much to live for, still.

...and so do you, my friend :)

This song so sounds like Lemon Grove where I leaned to tie my own shoes.":o}

What wonderful advice, thank you very much for posting this, ThunderRd! Hatred definitely subtracts from the amount of energy one can devote to love. I'm beginning to realize that hatred goes nowhere, it simply boils down to hatred of self. While this may seem just and correct when I'm caught in the negative zone, which is far too much of the time, it detracts from the small amount of energy that's left for living a reasonably good life.
