I just KNEW there had to exist such a song!! I hope it's a good one!! Probably worth your having a look/listen... I'm just not a "New age" kinda guy. ":O}
This is and always has been the story of a chicken shit love. I've always wanted to tell this mope what he can do! Enjoy! LOL OK OK! I'm sorry. But no one should get away with this crap!!
I was fortunate enough to have a 6th grade teacher that could and would sing to us He favored Hobo songs, but dipped often into pure Americana S.Foster was a favorite.
John Renbourn. From what? the 60's? Been in my life since I was 20. He has affinity for music made of Guitar strings. So after 50 years of listening I finally get to see a picture of his face. Big smiles for me!!
Love y'all, ain't nothin' you can do about it Ain't tryin' to make excuses but then Just wanna be there for y'all as a friend Your pa did a lotta work on hisself Just know I love y'all more than anyone else [Chorus] Tell me 'bout your desires right now Don't trip on loose wires I'll show you how My babies, I wish I'd never made you blue My children, my angels I'm talkin' to you One is too many Billions ain't never enough Don't take the easy road There's no shortcuts Spirit kingdom do What we can't do for ourselves Don't put nothin' down Without lovin' everybody else
I remember "Dock of the Bay" as his last effort. Do I have this right? Sadly, he bought a light twin airplane. These are probably the most dangerous type of plane to fly. They give the novice the idea of extra security with the extra engine, but they are extraordinarily dangerous to fly. There's a brief time period during takeoff when the loss of full power from one engine literally means "You die now! Enjoy!" An expert hand is needed at the controls, the flying license for these things should come with a "Warning, warning, Warning!!" An overconfident newly licensed pilot is just what these planes Don't Need.
Never heard this one before, thanks Daniel. Saw him live at Bumbershoot once--What a Treat! Bumbershoot tickets tickets for one day cost $109.00 this year. I imagine this will cut down the crowd size considerably.
What a genius with the guitar, I barely remembered his name, tbh. Thank you Dan, this is mighty fine!
If You All Get to Heaven If you all get to Heaven Say a prayer for my mother Say a prayer for my father Say a prayer for my brother But most of all please say a prayer for me Words of a feather All flock together Going round and round A soul is astral travelling Watching human motion Wasting thy seed upon the ground Discreet intermissions Coroners petitions Their work goes into the sand Voices from the middle Are gaining very little It's getting all out of hand If you all get to Heaven Say a prayer -volace menteh- Say a prayer for food and plenty Say a prayer -sehr sensible- But most of all please say a prayer for me If you all get to Heaven Say a prayer for my camel As I ride through the desert Say a prayer for the rumours The rumours of war The last moody summer Was autumn in covers Bespeaks of dogs in the dark A perfect reunion Of bloody communion Where do we find Noah's ark? A thousand words or more Seep through the floor And then take root in the soil Growing trees of doubt Helpless people shout Until their blood starts to boil If you all get to Heaven Say a prayer for Asmodeus Say a prayer for Belial Say a prayer for his denial But most of all you gotta say a prayer for me If you all get to Heaven Say a prayer for St. Religion Say a prayer for blood baptism Say a prayer for it's division But most of all please say a prayer for me Old men's cigars puff up the wars To protect their ****-ups again Young men must die! To keep the old ones alive And to prove they're studs once again It you all get to Heaven Say a prayer for the people Who will kill for cross and steeple Say a prayer for righteous bullets But most of all please say a prayer for me If you all get to Heaven Say a prayer for my mother Say a prayer for my father Say a prayer for my brother But most of all you gotta say a prayer for me Songwriters: Terence Trent D'arby
Yay! Adding "lyrics' brought me to a working version of the song on Youtube. Thanks for the suggestion Dan! Awfully hard to go wrong with this group! Paul Simon was very shrewd with his choices of African voices and instrument players for Graceland. They made the LP, he's only featured now and again. He had the unmitigated crust to cheap out and not use a pedal steel guitar player for his performance of the track "Graceland" in Central Park. What a piker, the steel guitar MAKES this song. Period.
Very hard to divorce this tune from the Lord of the Rings movie that "came with it." Typical Enya, which I like very much.
