Who's heard Little Richard sing "Shake a Hand"?

As they leave,they remain
in hearts that have been warmed
and cradled.

In notes that have soared and returned to earth
in smiles we share with God himself.

I thought since we're talking about Thai stuff, I'd post a Thai song. These two guys are Thailand's biggest pop star EVER, and probably their biggest bona fide rock star in a collaboration.

Skill and talent can never hide behind a foreign language!

But meaning can be somewhat obscured. Care to try your hand at translation? ":O}

As sun and moon pass from our sky
and we enter darkness, our thoughts are stirred by doubts

We turn to him who made us and seek one who might speak for us...
and be heard over the waves created by our troubled thoughts.

Ten years after they last appeared, Live Aid lost an act and so ask them to fill in.
They did.

Ten years after they last appeared the massive Live aid crowd knew every word to every song they performed.

Surly they listened to worn out material and grew restless?

No they grew into a great exuberant one of love and appreciation.

Queen.

It's a guy singing to his girlfriend who has just broken up with him because she 'wants to give her heart a rest'. She claims that there is no one else, but he doesn't believe her. He tells her that she has the 'face of a tiger', and is not trustworthy. He says that he will never believe her again, and that even if she placed her Buddha amulet in her mouth when she speaks, he will still not believe her.

Then he wallows in self-pity, saying that he ignored the advice of all his loved ones regarding this particular girl. He says he wants to run far away, and doesn't want to see anyone with such a black heart as hers, who memorized a speech to break up with him. Then he declares repeatedly that he will never believe her ever again.

Sounds like life, at least for some.

The guy in the black suit is named Thongchai McIntyre, stage name 'Bird' [grandfather Scottish] and the guy in the white T-shirt with the guitar is called Seksan Sukpimai [stage name Sek Loso].

Sek actually spent many years in England and Germany hobnobbing with rock's elite; his band played Glastonbury a couple of times, and he's known as a bit of a bad boy [sex, drugs and r'n'r]. He has also appeared at New York City's Lincoln Center [if you don't already know, it's the home of the NY Philharmonic, Metropolitan Opera, and the NYC Ballet.]

Both of these guys are seriously talented, especially Bird, who is an accomplished actor/singer/dancer/producer.

See what you think. Sek is the songwriter:

The locals rock out in Thailand, yay! Thank you for posting this keyhole to the other side of our planet!

I think I know this song, or at least the main trends of emotion.maybe 60% self pity 40% passive aggressive anger. Maybe a little sad (20% sad) that we all sing about the same emotional train wreak,

Yet almost nobody ( lets call it 80%)ever seems to get off the track before age 30. ":O}

"That ol stupid train just keeps running you over, running you over"
"
Quote from the movie Spawn"

So what does it say about me and the entire nation of Thai
that we like these songs? LOL
