    I've heard a lot about this lady, all of it good. She once raised a million bucks just by asking her fans to help...it took her 24 hours.

    For all of that I've never actually heard her sing.

    One day she was a nice Italian American woman who played piano and sang very well. The next she was an international superstar. No one seems to know how this happened, but it surely did.

    That is indeed the one and only James Jamerson playing bass sitting in the background on My Girl. Notice how he uses only his forefinger (the Hook) to grab those strings.
