Setting Sun is an indie Co-op Roguelite Dungeon Crawler in a Japanese world. Over come soldiers with your Shinai and collect coins to upgrade your abilities. Find the portal and power-up dragon, then advance until you can save your Sensie in order to learn more skills. Built in the Unity 3D engine, graphics are crisp and professional with linear grid of areas which load quickly. Enemies get hard really fast, but you an block or dodge their attacks to survive. Find the well of heal to replenish your health bar.

The Linux version on itch.io is an untested release but runs very well on my GeForce GTX 1060. The only problem I had was the game resolution. I had to add the width/height commands and run it from the Terminal to get 1920x1080. Also the game requires a controller to play, so I used my Amazon Basics Xbox controller without any issues.

I ran the command like this... path to the...

Chris Selwood finds himself in a mysterious cafe in a remote forest during a heavy storm. Its after closing hours but the waitress was nice enough to let him in... after some innocent conversation, the power goes out and horrifying events begin to take place! Inspired by 80's horror genre and old playstation games, Chasing Static is an engaging linear horror story where mysteries unfold in the forest and you are in the center of it all.

The demo ran well in PlayOnLinux with Proton as this is a low poly/low graphics nastalgia game. The demo is short, but allows you to experience a bit of horror, story and puzzles.

O.V.N.I Abduction is a short horror game inspired by P.T. Remake. You awaken alone at a hotel in the woods and your friends are missing. Walk around minimal hallways and some stairs and quickly realize something is not right. Thinks keep changing... red lights from outside... can you escape or just walk in circles?

https://vanadial.itch.io/ovniabduction

O.V.N.I Abduction ran just fine in stable Wine with PlayOnLinux. I always install DXVK and Media Foundation when testing games, but other than that, the game ran well with my GeForce GTX 1060. This is a very short game, but also interesting and with a few jump-scares. Totally worth the free download!

You have a crush in school and are completely obsessed with this person... but someone else gets in the way...
What if you could eliminate that person?
In Yandere Simulator you CAN!

Yandere demo is a story of a girl who is obsessed with a boy and wants to keep all the other girls out of the way. You can walk around a populated school and interact with people, object, weapons, hide, change clothes, change posture and of course... cleverly murder the threat!

https://yanderesimulator.com/

I was able to play the demo from a direct download. Apparently the Launcher has some issues so I didn't even try it. I used PlayOnLinux to setup a wineprefix and extracted the game to it. Then I used Wine 6.0 64-bit to test the game, but had some issues with fullscreen and mouse. I eventually settled on ProtonGE 5.9 because it ran perfectly! No serious issues with my GeForce GTX 1060.

Blade Of Agony is a FPS WWII Doom 2 total conversion. Fight against the Nazi regime in a Call-of-Duty style of gameplay in this unique retro WWII themed levels. Upgrade your gear as you find gold and complete a wide variety of levels in this action campaign.

https://boa.realm667.com/

I was able to play Blade Of Agony in the Linux GZDoom using the command line to launch the game. Unfortunately the 2nd level was extremely slow to the point where it was unplayable. I did a bit of research and tried to made some adjustments in the game, but just couldn't play. So of course I gave-it-a-go in PlayOnLinux with Wine and it plays beautifully! The developers admit that there are some features not meant to run in GZDoom which may play a part in the performance loss with OpenGL.... so give it a try with Wine!

Stormrite is an in-development Open World RPG in a fantasy medieval world. Chose a class like archer, knight, assassin, mage and more... then weild realistic weapons and hack down your enemies. This public test version will put you in a small mountain arena where you can practice using the weapons, learn the physics and controls of the characters. The physics are pretty realistic like Chivalry, where each slice or arrow will contact their body and react accordingly. Its fun to watch how they recoil and swing realistically where you open yourself to danger if you are too offensive.

https://kerds78.itch.io/stormrite

Proton handles the demo fairly well in PlayOnLinux and I was able to play indefinitely by reloading the level every time my character died. I can't wait to see more locations and the "open world" the developers are advertising... but the weapons and realistic physics are top-notch and pretty fun. The demo is developed...

Just about anyone has played Half-Life 2 at this point and maybe even played Synergy... but did you know there is a native version for Linux?

Play again as Gordon Freeman and escape the city through canals, sewers, beaches, Ravenholm and City17. You aren't alone, not only is the rebellion there to help, but you can bring a few friends along! Enjoy the physics puzzles, jump tricks, hover jet and buggy with a few friends... you never know what is going to happen.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/17520/Synergy/

Synergy installed without issues and I was able to host on a LAN and my other PCs joined easily. You use the classic listenserver interface where you pick a level start the game. There have been a few unexpected bugs which is honestly... expected with mods. You can not save the game either, but Synergy packs an autosave and autospawn feature so you all can play cooperative together without loosing a lot of progress...

Escape Ayuwoki is a first person stealth horror game where your goal is to find your way out of the house without Ayuwoki finding you. This game is full of suspenseful moments of absolute terror!
