Dark Messiah was created a few years after Ubisoft acquired the Might and Magic franchise when 3DO went bankrupt in 2002. This game is a first person action game with rpg elements. The whole game is like a huge playground with physics elements and breakable objects. The combat system make the game hugely entertaining, and replay value is also good because of the different skills available.

Hello everyone, today I’ll be posting a guide on how to run Child of Light, a beautifulRPG game by Ubisoft. This how-to requires you to have minimum knowledge of the terminal. Do not fret though, if you do all the steps you shouldn’t worry about a thing.

My guides don’t include installation process. I will only include them when I see the need to have one. I got Child of Light on Steam, however the process should be similar to uPlay too. You can contact me through e-mail, please understand that I might be busy and it’ll take a while for me to reply.

UPDATE:

Due to taking down the virtual private server (VPS) soon I've taken a snapshot of the archives I've uploaded related to WINE. Issue has been solved. Leaving link as backup either way.

You can find it all here

I'll be breaking down this guide into several sections.

Sections

1. Overview

The WINE I'm providing has CSMT patches integrated. I also merged the patches that were made a year ago to solve the user interface flickering issue. Originally this guide was going to include PlayOnLinux instructions, but it became apparent that creating a shortcut in POL is an uphill battle, for some reason it didn't want to create a simple shortcut.

Winetricks is required to be installed before using this guide.

Spellforce Platinum Guide

sf_title00.jpg

Spellforce is a blend of rpg and rts, and this game manages this blend masterfully. Most of the game is very heavy on real time strategy elements, but through the entire game you have your main character that will keep gaining experience, skills and equipment. The game is divided into maps, and almost every map have a lot of territory to explore and many side quests for those who enjoy such diversions. Some maps play more like traditional rpg games where you only have your main character and a party of heroes. On such maps, you either explore the wilderness or a huge city in traditional rpg style.

Icewind Dale 2 Guide

  • 19,245

Icewind Dale 2 was among the first computer games to make use of the 3rd edition Dungeons and Dragons rules, and it offered a lot of Forgotten Realms specific rules as well. Even though I usually found the original Icewind Dale to have a greater sense of exploration to it, this game allows for greater character customization. The new skills and feats system that D&D 3ed introduced really make this a much richer experience in game mechanics.

Icewind Dale Guide

  • 5,686
  • 7
Icewind Dale is another classic from the Baldur's Gate era. The game is set in the Forgotten Realms campaign setting for Dungeons and Dragons, the same world used by Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights. The game is using the same engine as Baldur's Gate as well, but this is a much more action oriented game. There is very little free exploring, and side quests are at a minimum compared to many other rpg's. Most side quests are just small quests that come up while doing the main quest, and are usually always directly related to the task at hand.

You also create your own party of six characters in this game. This means there will be no interaction between the characters in your party, but you get to create your own ideal adventuring group.

Baldur's Gate 2 Guide

Baldur's Gate 2 is the much improved sequel to the original Baldur's Gate. It was released in 2000 and started what has become expected by most modern rpg's. Party members have their own agenda, and might even leave the party if you anger them. Party members also interact and certain people will not get along. The story in the game is very immersive and one of the greatest aspects of the game.

This game is by many considered the grandfather of 3rd person party based rpg's. It takes place in the Forgotten Realms campaign setting for Dungeons and Dragons. I will begin this guide by saying that I absolutely love this game. This game is an rpg where you are practically given no quest line to follow, no clear goal forward except "Find Xardas". You are left to explore the world, learn about the opposing factions. Do quests for whoever you wish, even all factions. Build up a reputation among the factions and learn what you can about the world and what bigger plots might be going on.
